Peas in a Pod

Spending the time with my lil man is the high light of my life. And because mommy takes a lot of pictures he loves to ham it up in front of the camera. This layout is from one of our mini photo shoots at home. The sketch I used is #15 from Sketch Savvy.  I choose fun colorful papers to accent the sepia toned photos.

The title was made using the Cricut Classic Font cartridge and the peas are from the Savory cartridge.
I tried some paper tearing on some of the strips just to add a distressed feel.
Don't mind the wet glue spot :) Things got messy today.

I added a little doodle around this picture. Love glitter pens.

The heart stickers are from Paper Expressions. Ive had them in my stash for quite some time.

The quote on this page says, " For you see each day I love you more. Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow."  I thought it was very fitting for a mother's love. I don't have a cartridge that makes banners so I had to get creative and make my own for behind the quote. I'm not sure why I didn't take pictures of each individual page.

Trick or Treat

I was very productive yesturday during tiny human's nap time. I put away his summer clothes got out all of the next size clothes out of the basement and most importantly made a cute Halloween card. Halloween is my most favorite holiday of all time so of course I got sucked into looking through the bins of $1 Halloween stuff at Joann's on Saturday. I did manage to find 2 sets of 3 mini stamps and a mini acrylic block. I'm very new to stamping so I was pretty excited to try them out. I used this week's sketch from Let's Scrap.

Here is my card. The stamps are the Inkadinkado brand.

All the papers were pieces from my stash.

Inside view: I used same pattern paper from the front and the bat stamp.

I can't wait to make more Halloween goodies! Be sure to check back the second Tuesday in October for a fun Halloween tutorial!

Sunshine and Smiles

Fall is upon us! And as much as I love crunchy leaves under my shoes I'm going to miss the fun days of summer sun. This layout captures just that. Tyler loves to play outside and thanks to Grandpa and Grandma we got to play pool side. The sketch I used is from Let's Scrap and the 9-5-12 weekly challenge. Im always on the look out for fun challenge blogs and just came across Color Me Scrappy the other day. And just happens this bright colored layout fits along with the current challenge you can see here.

When I came across these papers in my stash I knew it they were a perfect fit and scream summer. You can't see it so well in this picture but the bottom strip actually resembles waves. Once again I used the Cricut Classic font cartridge for the sun and title.

The circles along the bottom I cut out from the same patterned paper that I used for the top section. I used a glitter gold pen to trace around the sun to add some dimension.

Creative Scrappers

I really enjoy the sketches and inspiration from the ladies over at Creative Scrapper. When I saw this sketch I just knew I had to use it for my 4th of July layout.
I scrapbook mainly as a way to preserve family memories and that means I always have more than 1 photo to use. So I tweaked this sketch a bit to accommodate my 3 photos. I used the let's kit together, Boys will be boys kit from doodle bug design inc.

Creative Scrappers #225

I used the Cricut Classic Font cartridge for the star cut outs. I thought that the rhinestone brads added  a special sparkle for the 4th July theme of this layout.

And of course I couldn't leave out the buttons. I love buttons! This layout might be my new favorite. Thanks for checking out my blog.

Life is Grand with you

The next 2 layouts I used the same sketch. I just really liked it and thought it complemented my pictures well. It is sketch #87 from Sketch Savvy. The "Life is GRAND With You" layout I'm submitting to Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for their challenge to scrap a teacher or someone that inspires you. My Grandparents have been a huge influence in my life and I'm so happy my son gets to spend time with them too.

The next layout is of Tyler's first hair cut.I used black card stock as a background to make the other colors pop. The truck and gears patterned paper are from The Paper Studio: Little Boys and Their Toys.

First hair cut with Auntie Nelly.

9-12-12 Lets Scrap Challenge

I'm finally doing a weekly challenge sketch on time for Let's Scrap. I usually don't have time to participate do to my toddler. But today during nap time I decided to scrap instead of clean. The added twine also qualifies this layout for the Scrapfit Trendy Twine challenge. This layout was a lot of fun to do and I'm so happy to play along with some great challenges.

Let's Scrap 9-12-12

I didn't have a punch so I got creative. I used crazy cut scissors and a hole punch to create a decorative edge.  Some places are a little uneven but that's pretty par for the course for me :)
I used black ink and inked around the edges of my journal tag, small pictures and letters for the title to add dimension it added.

Blue strip in the middle has a very small white grid pattern on it.

Close up of the twine use.

2 Birds with 1 stone.

It's been awhile since I've played along with any blogs and recent challenges. So my goal for the month of September is to participate in as many as I can. I recently started following 2 new blogs, Sketch ~N~ Scrap and Cut It Up. I'm looking forward to doing many more challenges with them.

The first layout that I did this week actually kills to birds with one stone. The sketch is for the October Guest Designer Challenge at Sketch ~N~ Scrap. I took a little creative liberty and am really happy with how it turned out. This is the first time I have done a challenge like this. I also added an adorable cut out and that qualifies for the "Any thing goes" challenge at Cut It Up.

Title and Grass Hopper are made using the Cricut Playtime cartridge.

The next layout isn't for a challenge but just another great sketch from Let's Scrap. It is from the 8-29-12 weekly challenge. I didn't have time to complete it then but saved it for day when I did. For this layout I used bright color papers to help express what a fun day we had when the pictures were taken.

I used buttons to embellish instead of stitching like the sketch shows

Thanks for looking at my blog!

Cowboy and Christmas

I made these last month and just now got around to blogging about them. The cowboy layout is my favorite. These layouts are from Let's Scrap and Sketch Savvy.

Let's Scrap 1-11-12

This layout is in a bit of a tribute to my dad. I love how happy he is with Tyler in all of the pictures. I used blue glitter mist to make the circle outlines for the page and the Paper doll cartridge for the embellishments. I picked the colors of paper to complement the shirt Tyler was wearing.
Sketch Savvy #16

Thanks for checking out my blog. I have plans to do more scrapping tomorrow so I will have more layouts to share next week.

10,11 and 12 Months

I can't believe that I have been blogging for a year now! Following scrapping blogs and using sketches has improved my skills so much! Here are the last 3 month to month layouts for Tyler's first year! Im so excited to be done with them. Now I just need to get going on the last 6 months of the second year. Ive been trying to scrap my stash lately so Im not sure where all of the papers came from.

This is sketch #12 from Sketch Savvy.

The polk a dot paper is from a gift bag.

This sketch is 5-26-10 Let's Scrap. I had to put my own spin on it to fit my pictures. I liked the idea of using black and white pictures and bright colored papers. I also got to use up some cute animal embellishments Ive had for ever.

This sketch is also from Let's scrap. It is from 8-26-11. I liked that it had so many pictures. I some how didnt take a lot of pics of Tyler's 12th month but had a ton of birthday party pictures so it worked out well.

The barn and triangles are from his high chair banner for the birthday party.

Thanks for checking out my blog have a great day!
